TIP For Beaders!!
Now here's a tip for all you beaders who have purchased beads with holes that are quite large. If you're using a stringing material that is thin (such as tigertail) your bead/s will move around and your stringing material will not sit centrally in the middle of the bead. This may particularly be a problem with handmade lampwork beads which the artist often makes with larger holes to accommodate leather/ribbon etc. Just string seed beads onto your stringing material and slide the lampwork bead over the top - you may need to experiment with different sized seed beads to ensure they are a snug fit inside the lampwork bead. I also tend to match the seed beads with the major colour of bead so that they remain as unobtrusive as possible. Doing this will also ensure that bead caps stay central and don't slip to one side because of the larger hole. So, don't put off buying that awesome, perfect focal bead just because it has a larger hole than you require! Fill it up with seed beads!
